it’s not enough to just go vegan…not if you want to be truly healthy and strong, heal yourself, help animals and save the planet. you need to be well nourished in order to do all that ! and there is little nourishment in cooked food. in fact cooked food – be it vegan or non vegan – actually harms your body. let me explain. fire is the element of transformation. put a piece of paper into a fire and it turns to ash. when you cook food (above 117 degrees fahrenheit) the heat alters the molecular structure of the food. in this altered state, your body does not recognize the food as something natural, instead your body experiences it as a foreign object resulting in an immune system response whereby your body’s white blood cell count elevates. this is referred to as digestive leukocytosis. and it is rather significant because your immune system is not suppose to engage when you eat – that is the job of your digestive system ! over time, eating cooked food seriously weakens your immune system which is one of the reasons why raw foodies enjoy better health and are more vibrant – their immune system is strong and able to do the job it’s designed to do rather than help your body digest cooked food.
cooked food is effectively dead. void of HOPE – hormones, oxygen, phytonutrients and enzymes, vital nutrients all of which are very heat sensitive. vitamins and minerals are also lost and altered from cooking. without vital nutrients hunger is a strong driving force. you can eat lots of cooked food and feel full but never truly satisfied. raw food however is nutrient dense, replete with all the things your body needs to function. experience it for yourself – bite into a raw apple and then try a baked apple. it’s a completely different experience.
